Diary Of A Soldier Part I

Contributed by The_Phantom on Thursday, 5th February 2004 @ 06:34:45 PM in AEST
Topic: Patriotic

Lost between here and there,
Somewhere between who knows, and who really cares,
Is a soldier all alone, standing watch far from home,
Freedom has a cost, but money can't pay,
It's the cost of soldiers lives each and everyday,

Whether it be the heat of the desert, or the cold of Bosnia,
We glady give our lives, only asking that America remembers us,
We will not fault in wind, heat, snow nor rain,
The lonliness, depression, nor the emotional pain,

This was our choice, we wanted to serve,
We put on that uniform everyday praying another soldier doesn't get hurt,
But it could never be, soldiers dying is what keeps America free,
This is a fact that we accept, we face each and everyday with no regret,

We miss our families, that's something that can't be ignored,
But it's our duty to serve our country whether it's here in the states, or on someone elses shore,
Well the sun has gone down on another long day,
I know you can't see me, but I ask that you join me and pray,

Dearest Lord I come to you tonight, asking that you watch over me, allowing me to see the morning light,
We pray you take the fallen into your arms,
Will you guide us and protect us from all harm,
Forgive us of our sins, allow us to be born again,
We pray you take the burden off our shoulders, and please Lord watch over the soldiers.....................Amen.

Forever Faithful
The Phantom

thanks for sharing, I have a modacum of respect for the american soldiery now,

"Freedom has a cost, but money can't pay,
It's the cost of soldiers lives each and everyday,"

You get paid to soldier right? you fight not for things you believe in but what you are told to fight for correct?

It is your choice and I respect you for standing by it but American soldiers are tools dying for someone elses money.

Dont come to ireland you're not wanted.
