The Road

The road moves in blue tinted splendor,
as I chase shadows of a life never lived before.
These times are harder than I remember,
almost to hard for me to indure.
I cruise around in my depressed reverie
letting the wind and the road caress my mind.
I think of love, life, and and broken memories
wishing that there were just more time.
The radio kicks back another lonesome song,
taking me to a new low.
But, just for a moment, nothing seems wrong,
now that I've found the road.

I liked your poem. It makes me think of change. Leaving a bad past or trying to forgive yourself for a bad past but not totally forget and start over on a new path/road. |
