Silently I listen to,
The little girl cry down the hall.
The mother damning her first born child.
The teenage girls' heart breaking.
Silently I listen to,
The newborn child laughing not knowing of any danger.
The Father coming home from working not knowing his wife has packed up and left him.
The teenage boy down the hall plotting suicide knowing no one would remember his pety face.
Silently I listen to,
The couple downstairs bicker to no end.
The homeless man down the street hating God because of his defeat.
The blind man praying to God to let him see.
Silently I listen to
My slow and drawing breath.
My racing heart slow down to a mild beat.
The thoughts in my head that would make anyone retreat.
Silently I listen to these haunting drawn out things.
