His Own Beach

I saw a man at the
beach,
he would pick up shells
and fondle them
and smile
He wore no shoes
only feet
and a smile
The sky claimed his thoughts,
the sea his tranquility,
and the world his patience,
but his concession
With a warm heart and
a warm mind
and seeking something
more than the great divine,
he walks the beach
in the far-to-be
and has found his place
in the vast open sea

Your poem put a scene in my head. I picture an old man, lived at the sea is whole life, but knew his time was coming soon. He picks up a few seashells and plays with them, like they were life support. And then, he walks into the sea, and never returns...
Sad, but fullfilling all the same...

Your poem put me on the beach---enjoying one of my early morning walks on the point...knowing there is hot suisse mocha and a notebook waiting for me at the house...feeling the mist...the sand...ahhhh.
Nice stuff.

Sheeit. You don't KNOW how much I like this!
One of my favourite poems in here, and no mistake - if you've read any of my work, you'd probably understand why. Try out 'Beachcasting' for a more concise idea . . .
"he walks the beach
in the far-to-be
and has found his place
in the vast open sea"
Great, great poem!
