Misinterpreted Feelings
February 4, 2004

There’s just one thing, one thing,
I don’t know how to do,
I don’t know how to be friends with you.
Sometimes I look at you with a girl’s eye,
Other times I see you’re just my friend, just a guy.
If you only knew,
What I go through, thinking of you.
And now I need this to end,
I think it’s too late to start again.
It would be easiest for me,
If we could part and simply be,
One-time friends who grew apart,
In truth, you grew too deep in my heart,
And now I must give my attention,
To somebody else,
Anybody else.
Just to stop thinking of you,
Before we part,
As one-time friends who grew apart.

There’s just one thing, one thing,
I don’t know how to do,
I don’t know how to be friends with you.
Sometimes I want more from you,
Than a playful hug and hanging out.
You’re the girl of my dreams,
But you’re not interested in me.
Sometimes it seems,
The closer I try to get,
The farther you back away.
I wish I could tell you I feel this way.
So I’m ending the game today,
Before you walk away,
With more than I want to give of my heart.
So let’s part,
As one-time friends who lost the fun,
End what could have been, before it had begun.
I’m walking away from a great friend today,
Before I jeopardize what we have by telling you I feel this way.

Great it just goes to show how differently we see eye to eye

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
