Enduring the Attack

God it hurts
I can’t breathe
His words were curt
And now they take seed

I know that he’s right
But it doesn’t change a thing
I must stay gone from his sight
So much pain do I bring

I keep trying to sneak
While I hold my breath
To watch and not speak
And witness his love’s death

When I see him
I can’t touch
In consequence I swim
It hurts so much

The end is near
There’s no turning back
So my eyes tear
And I endure the attack
