Spider’s web
It sticks to my shoe and I’m afraid to touch it.
Yet it produces life on the miniscule scale.
It winds and it twists with the symmetry of the gods.
Yet can not be reproduced.
The light shines upon it causing the colors to materialize.
Then the sinewy shapes appear.
Full circle begins with the last breath of the chosen one.
I tremble at the sight of life’s demise.
It frightens me to see how easy it ends.
With the strength of the silvery strings it holds anew.
Baby’s breath takes its first.
It sways and it moves with the earnest ones.
Ready to evolve they run.
Wriggling and squirming they cascade.
Circling their bait they wait.
It frightens me to see how easy it begins.
