Am I the opposite of what you expected of me?
Even through my tears,
In your eyes disappointment is what I see.
I'm sorry I'm not what you hoped for
But I love you,
So how could you ask for more?
I remind you of someone from your past
Someone I'm trying not to be.
So please put away the expectations you have cast.
Remember that I am my own person here
I make mistakes,
And for every lesson learned I shed a tear.
My biggest fear is your lack of faith in me.
You make it hard to breath,
My efforts not in the boundaries of your reality.
In your eyes I have failed.
No chances,
My whole course of life derailed.
