Physical State Nostalgia

Contributed by Xenodata on Tuesday, 3rd February 2004 @ 07:07:43 PM in AEST
Topic: Nostalgic

Emptiness and loneliness,
Why do I feel this deep inside?
What have I really left to hide
Other than my lack of happiness

A hole so profound, no sound
In the darkness, my heart pounds
Forward in a tunnel, no white light
Can’t lose focus in the night

My vision is blurry, I want to hurry
But all that’s left to do is fight
Fight against myself, against my worries
That nothing will be alright tonight

My reality is standing still,
And I’m left with a hole to fill,
My whole soul just lost control,
Over my own ideals, my own goals

I miss losing myself to my own pain,
Wasting my time without using my brain
Timing and accuracy, speed and consistency,
The only thing missing, is the old me

Pain in my muscles, joints, and bones
Didn’t matter in front of that throne
Had I known how I’d long those days
I would’ve chosen another way

But what isn’t was never meant to be,
And what will be is still unknown to me
So I sit back in anger, wonder, and weep
As I listen in me to the thunder so deep

My eyes sparkle every time I reminisce
The lies I once thought I’d never miss
While neglecting the beauty and glory
Of an ancient art, training, and stories.

My absolute favorite line: "Forward in a tunnel, no white light". It gives the perfect definition of the emtion you're conveying. There's no light at the end of the tunnel. No hope..... Very well said =) Nice write.

God bless,
Ellen
