A loud crash,
A big bang,
A sudden thrash,
A deafening clang.
She gave him black eyes,
He broke her nose,
And to his surprise,
She found strength to pack her clothes.
She walked in a room,
Came out with a stuffed bear.
Her mind filled with gloom,
As she felt his stifling stare.
He tried to stop her,
Like the times before,
Only this time she didn't faulter,
Just walked out the door.
He drug her back in,
By her skinny, bruised hand,
She fought back again,
But this time with a pan.
If she had known,
That this would be it,
The pan she wouldn't have thrown,
As hard as she did.
She called the police,
When she came to her senses,
And stayed til the lease,
Had finally ended.
The day she had left,
It was rainy and wet,
She thought of her son,
And silently wept.
