Captain Political Returns

Contributed by Romantism202 on Tuesday, 3rd February 2004 @ 12:15:27 PM in AEST
Topic: political

I am Captain Political,
Defender of keeping it real,
Destroying all the lies that have been purposely told,
In order to prevent us a people from living,
Washed up in predestined hopes that we might die,

I’m not one to come and preach to you,
Because I’m atheist,
For religion is a drug that I can do without,
For preachers are unemployed politicians,
That can just as skillfully use their mouths,

Brainwashing all that they are supposed to lead,
For their pockets aren’t the only ones jealous,
Their unquenchable greed never sleeps right at night,
If I can’t take another life via this psychological strife,

On a bus to theological hell is where we are headed,
While the preacher constantly spits out what he feels god says,
But when I tell him that inside me atheism lives,
He says that god says that you’re not dead,

I tell him that what he was raised on is a great political tool,
Used and abused like a rapist on a child,
Leaving no parts untouched,
For the curiosity is too great,
Evading all those breath taking questions of his conscious,
As his pockets are elegantly caressed by his ego,

He smiles endlessly from all the drama that he created,
Speaking on how his wonderful god can bring inspiration,
But from what I’ve seen, they look more like frauds,
People who have no evidence for a pretend cause,

I’m going to leave this subject alone,
For I can go on and on,
***** off a lot of people,
For the word atheist scares those who have fallen,
Because of the fact that I am a free thinker,
Comforted by the love of the unknown potential of diversity in opinions,
So I must be destroyed like the people referred to as anti-Christian,

But even though I am what I am,
Don’t waste your time attempting to change my mind,
For I’m as stubborn as they come,
Loving the thrill of arguing and debating like my brothers,

I believe the answers that man commonly seeks is within his reach,
Yet he must extend his hand that much farther to grasp what he wants,
Instead of relying these so called ‘’men of god’’,
For it does seem odd,
That I have to go to another man,
In order to find out what’s up in my head,
For the last time I checked,
I was still a grown ass man with problems just like everybody else,
Wondering how Bill Gates can make so much paper,
Yet he can’t stop being greedy and share the wealth,

Some wonder just like I,
How George Bush Sr can run a country through his son’s image,
Even daring to say that the world is ok with what he’s trying to enforce,
Bringing up false intelligence from a illusionary source,
For they only care about one thing,
And it has nothing to do with weapons of mass destruction,
While Bill Gates as well as P. Diddy have a lot of it,
MONEY

Unlike George and his daddy, I have plenty of evidence to solidify my case,
Like on the front page of the star tribune they started talking about foreign companies,
Waiting for the destruction of a group of people and their government,
So they can start collecting their paper,
Or how the prices of oil started going up right before the first bomb fell,

What about the promises he made of freeing the Iraqi people,
Yet you keep them locked up in a invisible cage,
Saying that it will all get better with your diluted tax cuts for the rich,
Not to mention the wonders that can come with age,
Yet you get mad when the world responds to your policies with September 11th memorabilia,
But that’s what happens when your memory gets nostalgia,
People who deserve to be hurt die,
Have to once again reminisce with the tears that make love to their eyes,
As they finally realize that the man who stole what wasn’t his,
Should have let September 11th happen to him,

I leave you with one last message,
And I hope you listen carefully,
When it comes time to go to the polls,
Strangle Bush with your vote,

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
