Threat Of War

war

Merry thoughts occupy withering minds,
Bringing with them discontents for seasons of dark affiliation.
Echoes serve as reminding beckon call,
Pride and ego the new players of the game.
Forgotten so quickly those who fought this war before,
memories honored in notion they fought for nothing.
Disillusioned hypocrisies serve as reminder of their faith,
Faithful only to their wallets and to themselves.
A fearful sigh; I sigh today,
as the threat of war is evidently nigh.
