A Place So Cold

I still see the scars that will never fade,
And the bruises that I try to shade.
I still hear all the awful sounds that woke the night,
And the screams so loud they caused a fight.
I still feel the tears that caressed my face,
And the feigned touch of your embrace.
The blood still stains the walls
And the phone is still broke from endless calls.
Memories still flash back,
And I can’t close my eyes in the black.
The knife still lies upon the counter,
And I’ve yet to see a new day after.
I’m still hiding inside my tub,
And there lies next to me the blood stained club.
I want to leave this place so cold,
But I’ve yet to be so bold.
I try to move away from this place,
But I’m haunted by your darkened face.
I’m sitting here all alone,
And I start to see the light that’s shone.
I look around me and all is white,
I’m no longer alone in the blackened night.
