Born to the world, given by the grace of God, our saviour
Years advance, seasons pass, to him do they surrender
When the coldness must begin, and the snowflakes must fall
A life will be taken, winter will cry, it will lash out a squall
When soft snow will drown in their eyes and the rain will blow
Hopeful, blooming hearts of spring’s children will witness sorrow
Children of summer will swim in the ocean of yearning under God’s heat
Every heartfelt laughter belonging to autumn’s children will retreat
The ice’s radiance will glitter as the asphalt will restrain from it’s menace
It will affect a footprint, sadden a heart, leave a mother and father childless
It will create a lifelong tear and lifetime sorrow that never in their soul shall perish
Womb-to-tomb, it won't dissolve, memories of lifelong smiles, all cherished
But life continues,it continues through rain, sun, tempest and dust
Sometimes they admit that from time to time, their spirits touch
It is to those I write today, those who have lost someone known as a child
These verses,stanzas,these rhymes..for you I compile
----------------
This poem especially goes out to the parents of my friend who died 3 years ago in December

It must be the most difficult. I cannot imagine it. You have touched on that grief. I know life is to go on after, but I don't know how those who have had this loss can cope. Thank you for sharing.

I think this poem is amazing so deep, so lost, but most importantly so authentic. I think someone could read this out at a funeral and it would affect the entire audience... very sad you have executed this poem so well with your deep heart and sombre tongue. This is superb Cindy - just like all of your poems...

Aw, Pumpkin, that was sad and brilliant piece of writing. Bringing a tear to my eye and a lump to my throat I can only imagine what it would be like to lose a child before their time. I think this write brought me a step closer to that thing I can only imagine and hope that I will never have to experience. Absolutely another great write from you.

I am so glad that I had a chance to read this, it's beautiful. It's so sad, and the pain is very obvious.
I miss poetry like this, true and raw and so well written.
God bless you,

Oh Pumpkin, I can't imagine? I have dear friends that lost a little girl named Penny. They are so brave, but I know she is there in their hearts every single day.
This poem is so touching, and helps all of us to feel the loss, even though we can't come close.........it's poets like you that help us try.
Warm love and tender affections to your dear friend.
