the night the sky stayed blue
there was no lightning
but the smell of rain
was on her body
and I slept on her lawn
cause I could not crawl
then came the rose
of mourning
the merciful swelter of noon
had the vision of
an ice pyramid
not like a sketch
but real in her eyes
silent and unchanged
the night the stoplight turned orange
memories of her in the passanger seat
angelic bittersweet
Knowing I was doomed
in a special way
like ice cream
bends a spoon.
