Is living a sin?

Contributed by Shadow on Monday, 2nd February 2004 @ 06:23:39 PM in AEST
Topic: Grief

So much is lost in this desolate land
We march together this tarnished band
So few are left. O what a few
I rest my bones on this old apple tree

The flag that I loved has now grown pail
Death and destruction lay on the trail.
What was the price that I did pay?
Ask the dead forever to lay.

Never again will they feel the breeze
Or taste the fruit that fall from the trees
I can’t help but feel guilty that I now live
What can I say that I truly give?

O sweet brothers of the banner so high
I’ll honor your death or at least I’ll try
What will happen if I don’t answer the call?
Will I ever see that golden hall?

Yes, my dear shadow, you will see that golden hall, but not before you are meant too. I have lost friends and loved ones in wars and I have known those who felt unworthy to be here. You had more left in this life to do. Their duty was done. If nothing else but to remember them when others forget. This is a deeply touching piece of work and you are extremely bright in your deliverance. I applaud you and your honor. Rita

Nice thoughts, what has made you think of these things?
