Lots of Questions

Contributed by ToriVeigh on Monday, 2nd February 2004 @ 11:00:20 AM in AEST
Topic: EmotionalPoetry

Every time the phone rings
My heart stops and I hold my breath
Disappointment sings
I feel love’s death

I hope it’s my imagination
Or at least, only temporary
Your attempt at separation
Makes my soul weary

I’ll not give in
Or become despondent
There’s been too much sin
And as much payment

On this thought I pause
What will you do: who will you see?
The person that was
Or whom I’ve chosen to be?

Was what you saw a dream?
Could the extremes co-exist?
Am I what I seem?
Of what do I truly consist?

Will you try to find out?
Will you give me a chance?
What am I about?
Will we advance?

So many questions
And the answers are few
I know your heart cautions
But my heart is true
