16000mg of Ibuprofen

Contributed by alecfernadez on Monday, 2nd February 2004 @ 09:05:51 AM in AEST
Topic: Suicide

16000mg of Ibuprofen
40 pills all in all
Wash it down with heiniken
Waltzing down the hall

Dizzy, the lights are too bright,
Two doors instead of one,
Puking and losing my sight,
This slow death isnt fun

Coughing up blood on the floor,
Eyes turn red, nose begins to bleed,
Renal faliure for sure,
No need for PHD degree

Words begin to slur,
Unable to speak,
The world is such a blur,
Feeling kinda weak

Blood pressure begins to fall,
Heart beats fade into a dream,
Collapsing vision of the wall,
Unable to breathe, unable to scream

This pills looked so inviting,
Bright magenta takes my breath,
Didnt know death is frightening,
Frightening it is, I await my death

My head feels so very light,
Cant control my eyes,
Chest is so very tight,
No comfort, not a suprise

1600mg of Ibuprofen,
40 pills all in all,
Wash it down with heiniken,
Collapsing in the hall

Fading sweetly in a dream,
heart slows down, light fades,
Thats when I see the beam,
The suprise the Ace of Spades

Fate has come through Ibuprofen,
1600mg thats 40 pills,
Here I come, destiny again,
A void it always fills

I may not die, I dont care,
I may be in a coma forever,
Even that sounds fare,
Because I wont ever be aware
Never

The line about slow death not being fun brought back memories of wrist slashing suicide attempts that failed on my part. keep up the excellent writing.

Disturbingly good; I've never attempted suicide poetry, albeit being quite disappointed with life myself, but the diction's parsimony makes it all the more personal and compelling. With a poet like you out writing for us, I'll never have to even touch the subject once in my life.

Phantasmagorically done.
