Hallucinations

Contributed by Fairy on Sunday, 1st February 2004 @ 12:47:12 AM in AEST
Topic: LostLove

Left in the dark with no one to claim
And no one notices my absence,
Or the empty chair in the back of the room
Silently, in the hollow of your heart,
You notice, but don’t let the words touch your lips;
You don’t let wonder, overcome your thoughts
I wish I could forget that easily
But the memories still haunt me
And I notice that you’re not here by my side,
Or calling late at night just to say, “I love you”
It seems like a far away dream
That never existed
Maybe I’m delusional and you’re not even real
Maybe I made you appear to be,
The person I wanted to see you as
When you did the same thing to me
We’re just two lonely people
Looking for someone to claim us
I admit, I’m afraid to be alone
But you were so real
And so were the feelings I thought you felt
Who know?
Maybe it’s just the hallucinations
That taunts me with the image of your face

Life is full of wonder, and mysteries. This was very interesting in it's own way. Hallucinations, I would never have thought. You bring this out really well. Life can be really horrible to some people, leaving just a remnant behind and time steals the memories, or makes them fade and then we are left with something that may have been but isn't so real anymore. Great write.
