Alone

Contributed by annabell on Sunday, 1st February 2004 @ 12:10:48 AM in AEST
Topic: Suicide

18 years old out on his own,
thousands of miles from the only life he's ever known.
He hates it so far from home,
always being alone.
He wants to go home so bad he can taste it,
life seems to have thrown him into the pits.
He promised his parents that he'd get along just fine.
To go home he'd have to swallow his pride.
It wasn't so great there anyway he lied.
So he climbed to the top of his building 11 stories,
and tried to slit his wrist with his keys.
Then he stepped off the buildings side.
Home wasn't so great anyway he lied.
His life ended on the concrete below,
his parents would have taken him back home but now he'd never know.

I always try to feel what the author of any poem is saying. I have to say this is a feeling I never want to feel. This is sad, but a very good write.

Torturous write. Absolutely painful. I felt the raw pain in this. I truely loved this, although so sad. All I can hope is this really didn't happen. Brilliant write here.

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
