Solace
Eyes flicker in the darkness
Beating
The blood passes through
Invading
The tick sucks it dry
Dead
The heart ceases to move
Pumping
The heart starts once again
Living
The red runs through
Defied
The tick takes it all inside
Dead
The heart ceases to move
Returning
The heart gives life again
Inside
The viscera flows through
Irritated
The tick drinks everything
Dead
The heart ceases to move
Stirring
The heart pumps weakly
Mud-like
The life is pushed through
Enraged
The tick swallows all that is
Dead
The heart ceases to move
Ticking
The heart gives out one last beat
Slowly
The blood inches through
Gorged
The tick takes its final siip
Dead
They both died for you

I think this poem is really good, I like the way you've done it...it's different and has brilliant imagery. |
