I crushed a flower.
A small, white thing
You'd scarcely notice.
My sightless feet,
My in-turned eyes
Had better things to do.
I heard a voice.
A small, sad boy
Was calling me.
"Dad - you've hurt the flower".
He held it gently
As though to give it life.
I didn't stop.
"It's o.k. son -
"There's millions of them."
Now I am old, have time to stop,
And memories on me rush,
A fearful question sears my brain -
Which flower did I crush?

Wow, i'm stunned...that is one of the saddest poems i've ever read. God...it's awesome, you captured the moment, image, and emotion with such grace. Reading this was a true privilege.
Truly,
