*snowy peak*

Contributed by ladyfawn on Friday, 30th January 2004 @ 06:19:05 AM in AEST
Topic: PoemsonBeauty

outside walking along with the dogs, 4am, they play
sniffing powder puffs, noses to ground ever searching
for what must be there hiding underneath the snow
it wasn't there this morning and is surely hiding now
it is an awesome adventure filled with wonder,
*it is exhilarating*
***
all the dogs are with me, no one interested in bickering
on this special fun evening, paws digging through drifts
while i try looking at the barn roof, which blends in so,
*happy tails*
***
*
**
*
i'm kissed by the nights flakes falling
freshly breathless; touching waiting lips
my lungs are renewed and happy, i smile
content carefree smiles on this cold night
i feel my soul running warm inside me,
*we all see our breath*
***
*
slow sparkling spirals down towards earth
trying to catch snowflakes on my tongue
a gentle falling blanket of purest white
beneath my slippers; inside warm toes,
*we feel alive*
***
*
looking far in the pasture at the huge oak tree
bare by winter, that old tree the reason for moving
on this mountain, we had 22 inches of snow that
first winter, snowbound with no way out for 3 weeks,
*sweet memories*
***
*
all that amazing beauty secluded in this forest,
*we deeply breathe*
***
*
silent age old whispers speak across solitude,
*
it is a wonder to behold, hearing panting now,
*
dogs are ready to go back inside by the fires,
***
*
*(making our way towards the house)*
*
***
we now happy, content, feeling new again,
never quits amazing me, white far as eyes can see
a final look into the sky, a bit more tromping
bit more sniffing and circling in new fallen snow,
*around and around in delight*
***
*
**
*
we are getting a beautiful magical whiteout
*
crystals gently coming in slow rhythmic motion
*
one by one falling to the earthly forest floor,
* * * * * * * *
*
* * *
*
* *
snowbound again....
***
*
**
*
*on our*
*breathtaking*
* *snowy peak* *
***
*
**
*
*

*

*(shhhhh.... whispering)*

*~:*nighty night*:~*
