The Misunderstood Teenage Mind

Contributed by intelectualpoet on Friday, 30th January 2004 @ 01:27:46 AM in AEST
Topic: oops

You Say that I don't know right from wrong,
That if I don't live by your every word,
I will find my self on the wrong side of the gun.

You think that I can't handle peer-pressure,
That I have/would do drugs.
Oh how you're so wrong.

I know what's right fro me,
What's in my best interest.
I can find things out for myself.
You need to let me take that first step alone,
If you ever want me to go out on my own.
Please trust me,
I won't bring shame to the family name.

Peer-pressure has nothing on me,
I don't do drugs,
Unless you count adrenaline,
If so, then I'm guilty,
lock me up now.

Mom, Dad,
You need to trust me,
I can do this,
But this time without your guidence.

Believe me when I say,
That I will come to you,
Whenever I am in harms way.

But, until that day comes,
I need to you support me,
To know that you have raised me right.
Can and will you do this for me?
Or will I just remain missunderstood?

this poem would make a good song if tweaked a little! It sounds like "Drown" by three days grace

Poetry is a great way to describe how you're feeling. Or just plain writing. That's what I used to get to my parents. It really works.
Take care.

This could very well be the story of my life. Well done, I loved reading it.
