I Miss You

Contributed by knowWhat_kind on Thursday, 29th January 2004 @ 05:20:11 PM in AEST
Topic: dedicatedpoems

How did you disappear
I was with you everyday
It's just not fair
Although I know God called you home
In the last days you didn't even know my name
I'm sorry for not being there
I hope you was not alone
I had a chance to see you
But I was stupid and said No
The next day Daddy said to me
"I'm sorry honey but grandmas gone"
She will always be remembered
The preacher said as we sat in the funeral home
I miss you so much
You will never know though
Cause your in Heaven and feel no pain
Thats my loss and your gain

I read your poem after a real bad day and it actually made me cry. A few years back I lost my grandmother. She asked for me in her bed-ridden state but I couldn't watch her leave me so I stayed home. About 2am I got the call. I cried and realized that I didn't get to say good-bye. But when it came time for the wake and funeral..I made it to the wake but the funeral I couldn't do. I showed up late. Boy, did I ever get in trouble. But it was my way of dealing with the pain and saying good-bye. Remembering her the way she was. Thanks for sharing this.

Aww what a heartfelt poem. I can relate to your poem, and I feel sad that you feel bad about the loss of your grandmother. But the last one of your poem is really powerful,in case you failed to noticed the effect of it,it says it all.She is not suffering anymore, she's happy, whereas you are the one suffering.Continue with your life, and pray to your grandmother daily,so you both can connect on a spiritual level, and that's the way two people, two souls connect the most. It's more powerful than face to face or heart to heart. The soul reaches everything.I'm sure she's watching over you and taking care of you.I actually had a math exam today and I prayed to my grandmother who died last year and guess what?I'm pretty sure I got 100%..it's not pure coincidence I'm sure. She helped me along the way as your grandmother will help you.Keep smiling,
PumpkinPie

I am willing to bet your grandma misses you just as much as you miss her. This poem is sad, but it's dedication and love lift beyond the sorrow filled words to give rise to a higher meaning. She is immortal through your words and praise. Love it.

Sarah
