Never have I felt such pain
To there my soul-mate leave
My teardrops there did fall like rain
My heart in sorrow grieves
‘Twas not my wish to leave her so
In her arms I would have stayed
Nor quick was she to let me go
For our parting she delayed
And now in sorrow I lie weeping
And still my fondness grows
For the lady who my heart is keeping
My Gem, my Love, my Rose
