U were supposed to understand
U were supposed to be there
U were supposed to believe in me
U were supposed to support me
U were supposed to be here for me
As a little girl u were supposed to tell me I'm
smart
beautiful
wonderful
U were supposed to respect me
U were supposed to treat me like a young woman
U were supposed to teach me how to love myself, to believe In myself
Now 20 years later I look in the mirror I see a worthless, fat, ugly, girl that believes she is beneath everybody
Thanks a lot for your fine work
but instead u call me a
fat
b****
stupid, making songs about my learning disability
U were supposed to love me
U were supposed to want me
U were not supposed to leave me
I said I want to be a doctor
U were supposed to say good for u not u are too slow in head to be one
I said I want to be a lawyer
U were supposed to say u can do anything u set your mind to
U say u hate the way I speak don't like my southern accent well who do u think I get it from
U say I'm so stupid that I let people lead me to hell
The poeple see I'm with yall so they know I'm already in hell
U were supposed to be there for me
U were supposed to love me
U were supposed to believe In me
U were supposed to guide me
U were supposed to teach me
U were supposed to be my parents
U were supposed to be my dad
U were supposed to be my mom

Southern accents aren't bad. I think most of this was powerful. I'd like you as opposed to U but that is poets choice. I just translate it to you in my head though anyways.
'U say I'm so stupid that I let people lead me to hell
The poeple see I'm with yall so they know I'm already in hell'
That line and the supposed lines were rather good. I think putting lines in between would have been good too. I think it was well done though.
