Enchanted trees of green shine bright amidst the mellow gold of somber summer
Games of football filled the air with distant cry’s of foul and glory
We the curious, found adventure at its beckon call
A summer filled for stories told, the evenings stretched as far as wonder.
Tuesdays Beano much awaited, a secret hand shake held the key,
A 99 if you were lucky,
fueled our strawberry syrup dreams.
