It Rained That Day

Contributed by Mouth on Wednesday, 28th January 2004 @ 08:47:00 PM in AEST
Topic: LostLove

I remember it rained that day-
As you stood in my doorway
Hair tangled a fray.
With your swarthy stare
And urbane smile.
How I was so alive to know
You might stay a while-
Talk about the small things
Over coffee and cigarettes.
Remembering how confused life gets
In the midst of it all,
When we were young.
Our mouths led by our tongue
Instead of reason, Or importance of words.
We used to laugh so hard,
At times, I thought we'd wake the dead.
But we'd just end up crying instead.
You stood so tall
Your eyes had this sense of purpose,
Oh, how I loved you then.
I remember it rained that day
You stood in my doorway
Hair tangled a fray
When you'd make the rain go away,
Oh, how I loved you then.

I liked this one. It really made me think about what love is. I like the standing in the doorway part alot. Nicely done.
