Friendships

Contributed by forever_lonely on Wednesday, 28th January 2004 @ 07:13:39 PM in AEST
Topic: Lifepoems

I sit here tonight, thinking of life
Just wondering why its filled with such strife
Day in and night out we find reasons to cry
When we could just let it all, pass us on by

I opened my soul, to your every last comment
Received only by curse, with no time to lament
I stood and I took each bash and each word
I stood as you laughed at these words that you heard

Met only by few, I found my promised land
Together so tall, standing hand within hand
Each fall we all broke, with our love and our heart
Our thoughts and our words never tearing us apart

So the question I ask, to all that do read
Don’t let the worlds curses, ravish and feed
Open your heart to someone close and so true
The world will seem better to the most and the few

But more than anything, my friends one and all,
It will seem better for you, when you do trip and you fall
Remember my words, for they speak only the truth
So go forth my good friends, and live out your youth

Wow such wisdom. I loved your point. I liked your whole poem. I can say I agree with every word. The world is harsh, life wouldn't be life without it's ups and downs. I hope you're living out your youth by believing in your own words. Good write.

Not only do I like what you wrote, but the way you wrote it. The rhymes caught me, and the flow was perfect for this poem.

Of course, what matters most is your thoughts, and I say that you expressed them quite well here. I'm glad you have such friends in your life, and I think that they should see this poem to know how much you care for them.

Truly,
-V.S.
