Remember, My Friend

Contributed by ShadowDaughter on Wednesday, 28th January 2004 @ 02:53:23 PM in AEST
Topic: InspirationalPoems

remember, my friend,
when the world is drear and gray
when you find it's harder than usual
to smile through the tears
remember, my friend,
when all you wish
is to simply forget all
and fade away into slumber

then remember, my friend--

there is laughter.

remember, my friend,
there is laughter
there are fond, quiet smiles
and exuberant grins,
there are not-quite-suppressed giggles
and ho-ho-ho chortles

and remember, my friend,

there is beauty.

remember, my friend,
there is beauty
there are unassuming fountains
and roaring, mighty, lion-waterfalls,
there are crisp-smelling campfires
and gold-bleeding sunsets

and remember, my friend,

there is love.
--yes, for you!--

remember, my friend,
there is love

remember and never forget.

You continue to surprise me Nora.
Somebody call (Hallmark) for this was so beautiful and it is the type of thing I would give to a best friend. Very, very few friends in the world like you and I think you two are lucky to have each other. ((5)) all the way. Kie

Awww, Nora...that's about the sweetest thing i've ever read. You've no idea how much I love this...there, that's it, i'm gonna cry. I love you for not only this poem, but all the laughter and happiness you bring me. I say thank you, you've given me a reason to smile. You are a true friend, one I will never forget.

So, I leave you with enormous cyberpuppydogeyes, and the giantest of hugs ever!

Truly,
-V.S.
