Diminishing Spirit

Contributed by jacquelynne on Wednesday, 28th January 2004 @ 11:13:14 AM in AEST
Topic: political

Softly I fell
into a trance so calming
as I dreamed of a place
where I'm always
surrounded by love
and a comforting embrace
where no hatred and war
could ever exist
As I dreamed of my escape
all around life was lived-
And it drew me out of comfort
and back to the harsh realities
where fathers get drunk
and beat wives
then head for the kids
and rape daughters
Military men kill
and say it's for the best
Inconsiderate greedy jerks hold office
Bush, Cheney, Huckabee
I blame you for the killing
of my soul...
