I look up I look down
when I look in the mirror I only see a frown
There's no smile on my face
It's gone without a trace
it's just simply disappeared
Something I have always feared
I try to Smile a fake one
But it never works, you can't see the sun
the sky turns dark, the clouds go gray
my hearts getting ready for another rainy day
The ground is wet and filled with mud
it's like my heart without the blood
it pumps normal, at a steady rate
without ever knowing the time of it's fate
it just keeps going, like most of my life
i'll grow up, have children, become a mom and a wife
it's all the same, steady and slow
not living my dreams, just going with the flow
whatever people tell me, I always do
feeling alone and lost, without a clue
it's like walking on water, not knowing when you'll sink
you'll be fine today, but tomorrow could change in one blink
Why can't I just live life on the edge?
instead i have to be stuck in a wedge
with plans of college, look to my future not my past
life now seems slow, but I grew up so fast
forced to be mature, obedient and always listen to the rules
be smart children dont grow up and be fools
as I lamee down to sleep
I close my eyes and start to weep
my life flashes by me in my eyes
I was a stupid kid, but now i'm old and wise
but i'm only 16, how can I be so grown up?
just chug it all down, swallow it all and say, YUP!
