For John Matthew Hamilton

Topic: FriendshipPoetry

Love always protects, trusts, hopes and will preserve (1 Corinthians 13:7)
From me a sisterly love you do derserve
Because no matter how low I feel at any moment You always lift me up with a shining, wisdomfilled comment
Thank you for always being there
I will take your advice with me everywhere
I must change the way I think of life
For everyone must go through some sort of strife
But a happy heart makes the face cheerful (Proverbs 15:13)
And some times your help makes me tearful
For I feel I can never repay you for the joyful tears you have helped me to cry
But by the Lord above, I am going to try
To repay you
Even though those days of Melba were fleeting and few
The greastest gift those days bestowed unto me was you
Those days are gone forever, and you are still here
No longer do my eyes shed a sorrowful tear
A joyous one is in its stead
And I promise to use more not my heart but my head
For sometimes the heart can make us hold on to something of the past
That wasn't meant to last
But no matter ehat you'll always have me to lean on
Even if you think you have no one
No matter what happens to you (or what you do)
You'll always have me and I hope I'll have you
And I wouldn't want ny other
Than you to be called a "adpoted" Brother
I know the Lord sent you to me
Because I needed a friend desperately
And I hope you see
Just how much you have helped little ol' Miss Crystal Lee
