It Was You

I peer into
Your cold eyes.
A steely gray,
not crystal blue.
I wonder where
the love went
That I used
to see there.
For in it's place,
is a consuming rage.
I know not
what I've done.
Nor why I
Deserve this.
I did naught
but good to you.
Yet you treat me as if
I've done something wrong.
Your voice is trembling
with the anger inside.
I begin to wonder
what truth you hide.
The true reason
behind this madness,
Why you do
me such a wrong.
Then I see it,
what you hide.
For all of your accusations
become clear to me.
They told me it would happen
But I wouldn't believe
I said you could change
I see no matter my efforts
You stayed the same,
went back to your ways.
All of what you said
was exactly what you did.
It wasn't me in the wrong
all along it was you.
