Hypnotic Refreshments

Contributed by Romantism202 on Monday, 26th January 2004 @ 05:36:14 PM in AEST
Topic: LovePoetry

I remember when I first met you,
How you tickled my senses so,
Warming a wounded heart,
By convincing it that it could grow,

My sight couldn’t believe its power,
How it was so grateful to be in your presence,
Getting beside himself so much,
That it refused to turn away from your essence,

My tears became overwhelmed by this great pleasure,
That they painted an unfamiliar picture,
One full of elegance and hope,
That saw my life change for the better,

She touched me through her hands,
Comforting a wounded soldier who’s traveled to distant lands,
Placing her heart over mine,
As the wound began to close,

For the first time I tasted what love was like,
Tangoing back and forth with her tongue,
Switching up the tempo like a salsa,
As my heart was introduced to one,

I could hear her voice through all the hysteria,
Cool, calm and compassionate in tone,
So as to hypnotize those who dare to wonder,
If there is a such thing as being alone,

But just when my mind began to question,
If it all seemed too good to be true,
She quickly turned me around,
By wrapping me up in her natural perfumes,

I couldn’t believe what love smelled like,
Roses and sunflowers rubbing her body down,
Eagerly awaiting the chances to put me under her spell,
So I can be healed from my previous encounters with hatred,

She soothes the pain like alcohol,
Making the earth seem more comfortable when I fall,
Massaging my heart with her warm hands,
Putting my life at ease,

I try to figure out where she comes from,
But the spell took over again,
Reminding me not to question it,
But just like a shoe make sure it fits,

For a good thing has come to someone who has more than waited,
Mistaking loneliness for a treasure that’s sacred,
Holding it close to his heart like a child,
Because he’s scared to let it go,
Fearing his vulnerabilities will show,
Exposing his most hidden flaws,
Leaving him prey to the wolves,

Then she took my hand,
Gracing me with her touch,
Wrapped in her arms,
And sewed my heart back together,
As I began to see different views through her eyes,
Finally realizing that love was right in front of me,
As I kissed her soft tulips,
Enchanted by the mysterious curiousness of this dream,

But just when I was trying to figure it out once more,
She threw some magic dust into the air,
And when I tried to make sense of that,
She massaged my tulips once more,
Passionately arousing me from my death ant the cruel hands of love,
So that I can breathe again,

And just then I awoke from this ever enjoyable slumber,
Wanting to travel back into this place of solitude,
Surrounded only by her elegant purity,
As I danced my eager temptation away,

I’ve spent all my life searching for this elegant treasure,
All the while tirelessly wondering,
What it would be like,
To feel true love for one more night,
