Can you keep from screaming
at the deep black empty.
It's that infinite sadness,
when all you want is to wallow in your misery,
wallow in your self-pity.
It's the longing inside.
The craving,
the addiction,
it's your conviction.
Can you make it through the night?
All by yourself,
so alone, afraid.
Of this reality you've made.
Can you keep from screaming,
as the blood flows down your ribs?
Can you stop your breathing
when you're begging for life ending tips?
Can you dig deeper?
So deep inside your pain.
Can you keep from screaming,
and know when you're only dreaming?
