I looked at the clock
hanging on the wall.
It ticked and it tocked,
but you never did call!
I kept the phone beside me,
just so I could hear your voice.
But to talk to my sweet angel,
is always second choice.
For I would rather see you,
and hold you in my arms,
and lavish you with kisses,
while feasting on your charms!
I looked at the clock,
and found it had wound down.
Now I wonder out loud
If you’ll ever come round?

Me again Robert hope you don't mind.I do enjoy readingf your poems though especially the funny ones.I know everyone has there own style of poetry there is so much poetry out there. In the site called poetry.com I won two contests in the Japanese form called Haiku it is short but I was fortunate to win.Under Dale Willis.Speaking of different types of poetry the couplet is a popular one with two lines rhyming back to back throughout the poem. One of the oldest poetic forms is the Ballad with simple words, repetition, and a refrain to tell its story. Its made up of the first and third lines of each stanza do not rhyme and are written in Iambic tetrameter, while the second and fourth lines rhyme and are written in iambic trimeter. The form I really like is called a Villanelle, the form Terza Rima is a very nice form also.I'll close for now:Oh Robert Frost once said If poetry dosn't have form its like playing tennis without a net.God Bless Wesley Willis |
