Breakup

Contributed by CodyJ on Monday, 26th January 2004 @ 01:35:02 PM in AEST
Topic: goodbyepoetry

Were the stars shining that lonely night,
when I watched you walk away?
Was the wind even blowing on that night,
when I didn't know what to say?
Does the knife still hurt,
when you twist it deep inside?
Does the pain of your words still hurt,
when you slashed away my pride?
And if you were to go today,
could I help but cry?
And if you were to leave today,
where would your love reside?
I couldn't have been alive that day,
not after what you said.
'Cause if I was alive that day,
I wouldn't have left our bed.
And if it were to rain tonight,
I think I'd be all right,
cause if it were to rain tonight,
you wouldn't say goodbye.
