Is this all I am in your sight
Damned to all and confined to night?
My cause was good, brave, and bold
My soul I swear I never sold.
This banner was right so I defend
All my strength did I lend.
My tears and blood have fed the ground
Never once did I cry a sound.
I play your game and so I pretend
To live a lie and my sins I mend.
I fought for honor and my home so dear
But since then have you shed a tear?
The sky is my grave and I hold it dear
Not once to it did you pear.
If I am so wrong in what I say
Forget me now this cold winter day
A solder I was and I guess still am
The death and honor this you damn?
I fought for you all this very day
I died in silence with little dismay
If my cause was wrong and I died in vain
Then more than twice was I slain!
If my country hates me because I fight
Then there is no hope in tomorrows light.

| I think it was rather good. I do however think it was forced to rhyme a bit too much. Outside of that it was a very enjoyable read. Dunno I've never been much for forced ryhme... |
