I'm Leaving

Contributed by Elf on Sunday, 25th January 2004 @ 02:44:00 PM in AEST
Topic: goodbyepoetry

It's a big world
It's dangerous out there.
All of this you tell me
To try to change my mind.

But it isn't
going to work.
My mind is made.
I leave today.

I tried to do
this very thing
to myself
last night.

But it has to be done.
Or else no one will do it.
I'm the only one
brave enough to go.

All the rest
have stayed at home.
I need to venture out,
to see the world.

I may be
the only one going,
but never will
I be alone.

I take you
in my heart,
You're always
on my mind.

My love for you,
forever burning
Always strong
will never die.
