Now I'm lostshades of night.

Contributed by AbstractMinded on Sunday, 25th January 2004 @ 08:18:07 AM in AEST
Topic: oops

The frost encapsulates the night
Is that you?
Cos Ive been searching for so long
For someone true

I am at a loss
Is that really my name in the snow?

Fonts run dry
The world smells of rotted truth.
Is that your face reflected in the gutter?
As the temple stumbles down to earth.

What can I do
When time freezes your mind?
This is the penalty
On your knees, quiet and shy.

Who is this? In the night?
Remember who you are.
Take a leaf from this crook
Dispel the fears that collapse upon you.

And when the night has fragmented
Up you jump, and take the time.
And explode upon the day
You take the veil but leave the face.

Jump through the hoops
You light-covered soul
And do the tricks they crave
Someone will understand.

Knfe is in, leave us alone.
And take the risk that summons fear
Like an effigy of terror
Long for a way past this frenzy of a river.

Time of another age
Borrowed, not forgotten.
Leave me be in this stumbling temple
Uncollabsible-the life you left behind.

Lips read the next reason
see me jump your tricks
Like parlour games in the dark.
Stalemates comprise the better part.

And like an ego of proportion
It will see only what it needs.
Leave me time alone
Go annoy another, lesser.

Who was it? Who said?
You spoke in a sleep
And I heard your muttering
Like a dead priest.
Leave me be in this swamp of thoughts
Who brought me here?
Like a great sickened edge of guilt
Revolution just for fun.

Are you ticking off the nights?
Please, let sleep be.
He has had enough trouble already.
What of this time of envy?

Past, present and future tense,
Like a missed light in a fragment
Of glass, reflected, not forgotten.
Time seize me, Im lost.

How was I to know?
Hate and the fuel of kindness
Levitate my soul into the twilight
See the moon as it would wish.
(Lost control)
Lay and try the tea
Half-mast commute through this biblical cast
Take my mess and leave a note
Youll see me again this day.

Am I not afraid of the back of the queue?
Leave this poor deluded monkey to rot.
Cos sometimes things are better left undone.
Amongst the leftovers of life.

I like the way this poem dictates the thoughts in your head, and allows them to come out the way they do
