Maybe it's because I needed a new guy.
Did you ever wonder why I'd cry?
Maybe it's because I didn't want you to lie.
Did you ever wonder why I said the things I said?
No, it's not just because I wanted you in bed.
Did you ever wonder why I wasn't shy?
Maybe it's because I never wanted to say good-bye.
Did you ever wonder why I loved seeing you?
Maybe it's because I wanted to be with you.
Did you ever wonder how I felt?
If not, did you just want me to melt?
Did you ever wonder why I didn't want you to leave?
Maybe it's because I didn't want to feel deceived.
Did you ever wonder why I said, "I like you a lot?"
It's because it's true.
Now that you know how I feel,
I want you to be real.
