The Golden Cask , (Part III)

Then why does your heart beat with mendacity?
And why does your breath reek of animosity?
If you were cultured by your mother’s love?
And sheltered by your father’s warmth?
Why son of Adam?
Why thou lay amidst insipient dreams?
Whence they fellow men yelped and cried for help?
And the great circle broke and life was raped!
Why were thou contumelious?
Why were though disingenuous and prejudiced?
Why when I held out My Hand,
Thou winced away and never looked back,

Don’t ask Me son of Adam,
Try to defecate your contaminated mind,
Don’t questions all my actions!
Ask…but ask thy-self,
Why you are what you are today?
Why you created this disarray?
Why you became your own adversary?
Becoming edacious,
Absolutely voracious,
Turning so noxious,
I never left thee…I never shall,
And this is a sign for those who understand!’

Then our friend man…cried,
His orison had been answered,
He fell to his knees and died,
And with him I woke from my midnight slumber,
Perhaps a sleep to long,
Perhaps one too deep,
Deriding history, disgracing the present,
And laughing away tomorrow,
We deceive no one but our selves,
It is alas but our demise!
There are treasures from my Lord in heaven,
For man, the bearer, if he’d understand.
