Too much sunlight warmed me
Melted me into the ground
Seeping into the darkness
Earth swallowed me, thirsty
Roots drank me into the tree
And I came up to see the sun once more
I am a green leaf in the breeze
Fluttering to be free
Caterpillar inches past me
On his way to being a butterfly
I was the Queen of Winter once
Frozen snow her majesty
Now a bit of Spring is all
I can ever hope to be

Hi Merry,
It's fascinating to see the sheer variety of forms your poetry takes.
This is good.
