Children innocent and loving and true,
watching adults mimicking what we do.
Speaking the truth as we tell them it is,
only wanting to please, only wanting a reassuring smile.
Learning everyday from all that they see,
trying to become all they can be.
Only wanting to please, only wanting a reassuring smile.
What happens when the truth is not told?
What happens when the lies begin to unfold?
Who dares tell them that what they've heard is wrong?
Who will help them believe they've been lied to this long?
Children only wanting to please, only wanting a reassuring smile...
