WHEN COUPLES FIGHT

How can my consciousness settle?
For any thing less,
Than the realization,
Of your tender existence,
How can I surrender?
The delicate fragrance,
Of your hair,
How can I release all those dreams?
That I have sown into this thread of life,
With you in my eyes,
How will these moments suffice?
My desires for living ever after,
Ever after I can hold you in my thoughts,
How can I ever let the vows?
Dissipate like wet colors,
In the puddles of a fading memory,
Shall I yield to this stillness?
How can I give up all the mirth?
And the tears ad the zest,
And set to rest,
On a lonely kitchen table,
I see you sitting in the living room,
Unaware, conspectus,
Carefree and listless,
Moments after,
Whence you erupted,
With cutting statements and unkind words,
Despised me…denied me,
The right to be loved by you,
And sentenced me to exile,
A shattered heart and loneliness,
The mystery of my fate,
At the mercy of your hate,
You are the jury,
The wrath of your fury,
I cannot survive,
With out you,
Holding my hand,
Whispering in my ear,
Songs of forever,
Will you ever let this child go?
Will you ever turn around?
If you do…
You will find me standing,
Right where you left me.
