My Knight

Contributed by Katie-Kate on Friday, 23rd January 2004 @ 01:19:03 AM in AEST
Topic: LostLove

He is everywhere I look,
He occupies my mind.
What is it, I have to do,
To leave his love behind?
I shattered when he left,
I literally fell apart.
I could not breath from the pain i felt
Deep within my heart.
I cried at night to feel his touch,
I longed to hear his voice.
I wanted, just one chance,
To reverse his fateful choice.
He sang to me at night,
Like the soft wind through the trees.
He filled my heart with warmth,
Bringing me to my knees.
But I know, you know, We all know it,
That good things never last,
When soft winds and weak knees,
Are figments of the past.
The present is lacking love,
It's truely lacking soul.
It's but comparrisons,
Of life and love as a whole.
He comes to me in the night sky,
Eyes sparkling as a star.
What a good resemblance,
For he seems just as far.
When I look into a puddle, in the street,
His reflection is staring back.
With sullen eyes, a thoughtful smile,
My white knight dressed in black.

Very nice and heartfelt. I hope you win this knight back or get a new one. Nicely written.

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
