We had a noon appointment with a doctor for the hand,
The 'Pearl' had hurt her knuckle and it felt far less than grand,
We both came from a homelife where the doctor was a god,
We sometimes have to wonder whether reverence isn't odd.
Before we start to wrangle, let me tell you how we feel,
We went to lower doctors and their treatment wasn't real,
They jab you and they blab you till you're turning blue aface,
They are guessing and are messing, till we'd like to use the mace.
This doc was recommended by a group of many friends,
If he doesn't cut the mustard, we shall kick where colon ends,
We're so tired of the deities who masquarade as docs,
I'd as soon we treat with bagels and Norwegian salty lox.
We were jolted at the waiting room wherein we sat and read,
Of the many wonders he performed, but now the patient's dead,
The chairs and golden carpets were as plush as you could buy,
We see he took some money to impress the 'Pearl' and I.
The folks who went to see him, they were sitting here and there,
They were looking at each other with a kind of vacant stare,
We hope the 'Pearl' and I.. did not resemble mummies, too,
And if anybody says so, we will hit him with a shoe.
It's now two and twenty seven, we had waited lo since noon,
We're about to see the genius, which of course can't be too soon,
I'll bet you twenty dollars, he's a quack just like the rest,
And we'll wind up wasting time, not withstanding he's the best
The nurse has called our name. It is time to go inside.
I sure hope that this great doctor will not take us for a ride,
There's the door for us to enter, we shall see what we shall see,
Our hearts are beating wildly, What'll be for sure, will be.

Well, Norm you simply sneaked this one right past me. I just discovered it by accident
and I want to i owe you an apology!
I had no idea you were beating treated so mean.
These Dr.s aren't Gods.....if you know what I mean. I think we should be able to charge them for our time.....just like they do us.
What do you bet their making us wait...will stop just like a bus!
So sorry about not seeing this great poem
It's worth a 5 anyway.....hope those Drs. leave you and Pearl alone!
