Sofia had a passion for happiness she could not live without. A dream is something that puts a smile on your face when you think about it. Provides a warm feeling through your blood and a glow in your eyes when thoughts of obtaining it come to mind. Dreams leave you feeling hallow and blue when you imagine just how hard they may be to achieve. A passion is something you gorge yourself with without any thoughts of consequences. Some have that constant need to take things slow and fully understand all of their surroundings. Others passions fall to driving fast and knowing no one is passing them by.
Sure Sofia had dreams of granger. Of being happily married or fitting into that pair of jeans she bought her junior year in high school after she lost the ten pounds she since gained back. But her only true passion in life was happiness and a *****-hit-the-fan try and catch me if you can sentiment consumed her when she was not.
With Sofia happiness was almost a tangible line where fire scorched her if she crossed it and she froze to death if she didn’t stand on it. Completely obvious when she was, undeniably missing when she was not, happiness was her only objective in life. And most of the time she was. Deep down inside, underneath her heart and hurt; at the base of every vein like canal which distributed her thirst for life and defined who she really was at her core, Sofia was nothing but appreciative. She had a great family and terrific friends. She had been blessed with a sharp mind and a compassion for those less fortunate that would never allow her to become hard or spoiled.
But when loneliness crept it’s way through her pores it had a way of attacking her soul. Maybe not at first, for she had some tolerance to it, but once it set in it polluted her mind the way water kills a crop after it has been raining non-stop for twelve years. It could startle all of her senses and turn her mind to mush as if she was hearing a sharp pitch in her eardrums for months at a time.
Loneliness was really the only wall that could stand between Sofia and happiness. And right now lonely was about all she was feeling.
